The Kamm’s Martinez was not for the faint-hearted! If you like your cocktails strong, then this is the one for you! A potent yet tasty mixture of Kamm and Sons, Belsazar Red Vermouth, Maraschino, Caol lla 12 and Rosemary Tincture made for the perfect Friday night cocktail, although team ELVI were all agreed, perhaps not a great choice on a school night!

The Elderflower Margarita offered a contemporary take on a cocktail menu classic, Olmeca Altos Tequila, Belvoir Elderflower, Lime and Chilli Syrup made for fresh new twist on this staple favourite, proving to be a popular choice all round!

One for the prosecco fans! The Spiced Kumquat Bellini saw this favourite fruity cocktail perfectly contrasted with spiced flavours as FAIR Kumquat Liquor and Prosecco were mixed with Orange Bitters and Cardamom Tincture for a cocktail taste explosion!

The Wentworth Collins proved to be a favourite amongst the Gin drinkers in our group! Beefeater Gin and Mondino Amaro were mixed with Pink Grapefruit, Lemon, Sugar and Soda for a refreshing cocktail with just the right amount of kick!

Bellini

Ingredients: 2 Peaches, Champagne

If lots of prep isn’t your thing, this is the cocktail for you! All you’ll need to make the perfect Bellini is 2 ripe peaches and a bottle of fizz! Start by peeling and halving both peaches, removing the stones as you go, place the peaches in a blender and mix until you achieve a smooth pureed consistency. Next up, fill a chilled champagne glass a third of the way with your peach puree, followed by the all-important champagne! Remember to stir as your pour and you’ll be all ready to indulge in the most glamourous of cocktails!

Well, it wouldn’t be a cocktail guide without this retro classic! The ultimate tropical cocktail that promises to having you dreaming of golden sands and palm tree’s, if you’ve got a sweet tooth, this one’s for you! To make our timeless classic begin by placing a large handful of crushed ice into a blender, add spiced rum, coconut cream and pineapple chunks and blend until smooth, then simply pour into a tall glass and garnish your Pina Colada with a maraschino cherry and pineapple chunk and enjoy, it really is as easy as that!

Old Fashioned

Ingredients: Orange Slice, 50ml Scotch or Bourbon, 2-3 Drops of Whisky Bitters, 1 tsp Sugar Syrup, 1 Maraschino Cherry, Lemon Peel, Ice Cubes

An old favourite, the classic old fashioned is one for the whisky lovers! To make the perfect old fashioned begin by taking your orange slice and rubbing it around the inside of a whisky tumbler, before placing it inside the glass, pop in a maraschino cherry, one teaspoon of sugar syrup and a couple of drops of whisky bitters along with ice cubes. Fill your glass halfway with Scotch or Bourbon and stir before adding more ice, finally top up the glass with your choice of Scotch or Bourbon and add a lemon peel to garnish before serving.

Sloe Gin Fizz

Ingredients: 50ml Sloe Gin, 100ml Sparkling Water, 2ml Lemon Juice, 1 tsp Sugar Syrup, 1 Maraschino Cherry, Orange Slice

Nothing says summertime like a Gin-laden cocktail with a little twist of fizz! To make your Sloe Gin Fizz, begin by filling a cocktail shaker with ice and adding your Sloe Gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup to the mix, give it your best cocktail-making shake until the mixture is perfectly blended and chilled! Next up, use a cocktail strainer to strain your Gin mixture into a tall glass, filled with ice cubes and finally pour in sparkling water to fill the glass. Garnish your cocktail with a maraschino cherry and an orange slice and there you have it, the perfect pool-side treat!
